Navy's defense stifles Huskies offense
After a slow start, the Navy football team found its footing and rolled to a 75-3 victory over Houston Baptist on Saturday at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis.
Navy's offense, which had struggled in the first two games of the season, finally clicked against the Huskies. The Midshipmen rushed for 426 yards and six touchdowns, and quarterback Xavier Arline threw for 171 yards and two touchdowns.
Houston Baptist, a Football Championship Series (FCS) team, was no match for Navy's option offense. The Huskies were held to just 102 yards of total offense and never threatened to score.
Navy's defense was once again dominant. The Midshipmen held Houston Baptist to just three points and forced five turnovers.
The victory is Navy's third straight and improves the Midshipmen's record to 3-1 on the season. Houston Baptist falls to 0-3.
