Cowboys Move Fant, Vigil to Active Roster
Cowboys Promote Tight End and Linebacker from Practice Squad
The Dallas Cowboys have elevated tight end Princeton Fant and linebacker Nick Vigil from the practice squad to the active roster, the team announced Tuesday. The moves come as the Cowboys prepare for their Week 3 matchup against the New York Giants.
Fant Returns to Active Roster
Fant, a fourth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, has been with the Cowboys since 2021. He has played in 16 games for Dallas, catching 15 passes for 168 yards and two touchdowns. Fant missed the Cowboys' Week 1 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with an ankle injury but returned to practice last week.
Vigil Bolsters Linebacking Corps
Vigil, a former first-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals, has played in 79 career games with 56 starts. He has recorded 466 tackles, 10.5 sacks, and six interceptions. Vigil signed with the Cowboys in March 2022 but was released during final roster cuts. He was re-signed to the practice squad the following day.
