Keeping good company is a common theme with Bass Players To Know, and our latest feature, Jimmy Johnson, certainly does that. The 1956-born artist has collaborated with the likes of James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Linda Ronstadt, Michael Franks, and Carly Simon.
He is perhaps best known as the bass player for James Taylor, and this album captures the band brilliantly. Johnson is a world-class musician who has performed with some of the biggest names in music.
Johnson has also released several solo albums, including "The Jimmy Johnson Project" (1986), "Bass Desires" (1988), and "Groove Machine" (1992). He is a versatile musician who is equally at home playing jazz, fusion, rock, and folk rock.
